TONIGHT’S TOPIC: Reading for Writing
How to select books + compile a reading list to nourish your mind and your creativity as you draft.
I’m super excited about this summer’s workshops. Please see the options below + check out the calendar for dates and times. The Workshops are first-come, first-served, and there is an attendance limit, so fill out the quick form to hold a spot.
Blogging Boot Camp: June 28, August 2, 9, and 23.
**Start from the ground up with WordPress: learn everything you need to know to start blogging effectively. I share what I know from the long process of trial and error, a lot of best practices, and special access to students-only website full of resources and all of the notes from the class**
Time: 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays
Notes: You must bring your own lap top.
Writing Workshop, various topics: June 25, July 2, 9, 23; August 6, 13
**Each week will begin with a free write to get us in the zone. Then we’ll talk about a different complete topic each week. These are designed so that you can attend as your schedule permits. Come to one workshop or all six. Check here for the topic of the week, we’ll hit everything from genre to adjectives to flashbacks.**
Time: 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Cost: $10 per session, or buy a punch card: 6 workshops for $50
Kids Poetry Workshops: July 12, 26; August 16, 30
**Poetry is good for the brain. Bring your kiddos for a fun-filled 2-hour session where we’ll do a series of poetry projects involving words and collage, drawing, performance, the outdoors, and even a special project. Make sure your kids are wearing clothes that can get dirty, and hit the grocery store or Starbucks for a couple hours. This is only open to kids ages 6 to 13.**
Cost: $20 for the first kid, $10 each additional.
Time: 9 – 11 a.m. on Saturdays.
